Annada Ekadashi

Lord Vishnu devotees observe the Ekadashi Vrat on the Ekadashi Tithi of every Lunar fortnight. Interestingly, each Ekadashi Tithi has a specific name and significance. For example, the one that falls during Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the Moon) Bhadrapada (as per the Purnimant calendar) is called Aja Ekadashi or Ananda Ekadashi. Those who follow the Amavasyant calendar, however, celebrate it in the month of Shravana. Surprisingly, only the name of the months as per these two calendars differ, but the date remains the same.
